About BEPF
The Bulgarian Environmental Partnership Foundation (BEPF) is a public
benefit non-governmental organisation, registered in November, 2003. BEPF is
member of the Environmental Partnership for Sustainable Development
Association (formerly known as the Environmental Partnership for Central
Europe Consortium), which brings together 6 independent organisations from
the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia to promote
sustainable management of natural and cultural heritage in the countries of
Central and Eastern Europe. EPSD's mission is to support change towards
building sustainable local communities through civic initiatives and
interinstitutional dialogue involving organisations, institutions and
community members, committed to resolution of sustainable development and
environmental protection issues.
BEPF supports community initiatives of grassroots and NGOs in Bulgaria to
help solve problems on nature conservation and protection; awareness
raising; energy efficiency, renewables and climate change promotion, and
public spaces improvement.
On an annual basis BEPF announces grant programmes, e.g. Local
Ecoinitiatives, Biodiversity Conservation, Greenways Development and
Promotion, Flood Prevention, Energy Alternatives, and others. For the short
4-year period of its operation, BEPF has implemented 19 programmes, through
which more than 1 163 260 USD have been regranted to over 170 civic
entities.
